Mom Is Finally Coming Home!

May 10, 2022

When clients came to us in December 2020, they were beyond frustrated.

They were trying to bring their mother to the US from The Gambia.

Most of the family were already here, and their mom was advancing in age.

It should have been a smooth and simple process.

Unfortunately, they encountered a lot of problems at the National Visa Center (NVC) that delayed the case.

The NVC kept rejecting their documents and they did not understand why.

We started working on the case to identify the problems. We also submitted outstanding documents to the NVC.

The firm corresponded with the NVC to determine the status of the case. We also called them.

The NVC requested additional documents (ugh!), and we submitted them.

In March 2021, the case became Documentarily Qualified.

However, due to the pandemic, the US embassy in Senegal (where their mother had to interview) was operating very slowly.

Finally, in February 2022, the case was scheduled for an interview

We prepared their mother for her interview.

We also discovered that the Petitioner's recent tax return shows an income below the federal guidelines for sponsoring a relative.

Because his income was not enough to sponsor his mother, he needed a joint sponsor.

The firm prepared an Affidavit of Support for the joint sponsor.

On March 31, 2022, their mother received her immigrant visa!!

P.S.  Success stories are based on real cases. However, each case is different, and past successes do not guarantee that all cases will have a similar result.
